Music Lessons

I offer private music lessons for both adults and children age 8 and up who would like to learn guitar, piano, bass, or drums. Lessons are once a week for 30 or 60 minutes and are sold in bundles of 4 lessons at a time. I am located at 27 Mayfair Drive in Barrie, ON. My hours are Sunday through Thursday from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Your first 30 minutes are free! Please contact me for available time slots. ​

I will plan your lessons according to your taste in music, goals, age, and skill level. If there is something you would like to focus on or if there is something you do not want to learn please let me know. For piano, guitar, and bass lessons I normally teach using whichever genre of rock/pop music you are interested in (rock, pop, country, funk, metal, prog, soul, etc), in addition to classical music from the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) and, if you would like, jazz music. For drum lessons, instead of classical music we will use snare drumline studies and repertoire. Each lesson is normally split between skills, theory, and songs. I will address technique, ear training, reading, how to practice effectively, music theory, rhythm & timing, improvising, creating music, and more.

 

• Beginner lessons are designed for people with little to no experience. Beginner classical lessons would be the RCM Introductory Level to Level 4. 

• Intermediate lessons are designed for people with some experience who wish to improve their skills. Intermediate classical lessons would be RCM Level 5 to Level 8.

• Advanced lessons (guitar and bass only) will focus on jazz studies and performance at the university level.

I do not charge for last-minute cancellations with under 24 hours notice. 

I do charge for missed lessons that occur without notice unless there are extenuating circumstances.
